going through the motions

i briefly went on the job application grind this past month, starting off with two teaching positions: one at a test prep center, the other at some community college. i managed to go through some of the interview process for the one at the test prep center, but had some terrible gut feelings about their bureaucracy after learning about their insane training hours (four separate days in november from 7 am to 6 pm or something like that), so my boyfriend suggested i called it off (and i did). i applied to the community college one last week, and haven’t heard from them yet, so we’ll see what happens.

on the more exciting news, two wednesdays ago the zine i participated in, holy shuggazine!, just got released! i’m so proud of every contributor there, everyone did a phenomenal job on it. a print version is still in the works, and i can’t wait for that to be released.

punk is slowly being assembled; right now i’ve gotten all of his parts together (including the joints, my guy has so many articulations), and i’ve just added ca glue and tamiya putty in the tiny resin pockets and chipped-off tips of the spikes so that they can be sanded off later. i really can’t wait to prime his parts and paint them.

my boyfriend and i have finished the curse and perfect days. the curse was… well, something (it took a bit to like the show but i do appreciate the conflicts within it) and perfect days was just cozy enough for me, and something i may consider rewatching especially if i have a really bad day.

it doesn’t hurt to draw as much as before, which is a win in my book. these past few months, i couldn’t finish a sketch without having to lose momentum from either fighting the demons in my head (re: dealing with myself over some recent interpersonal issues) or nitpicking at every stroke. it had me questioning if i wanted to continue drawing (and i do want to continue). but all i really needed were some really good distractions.
